* HAPPY NEW YEAR *

Wishing you all here a
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
Hope everyone's still enjoying their holidays and had a lovely Christmas.

For me, even though it's definitely been one tough year, I'm very thankful and grateful for those who have been with me through the best and roughest days.
If you have been flowing my blog for a while you'd most likely know why.
Looking back, we made quite the few long haul trips this year and I'm very lucky to revisit some good old places, meet new friends, catching up with the old and the highlight is no doubt, the trip back to Canada at my Uncle's wedding where it always feels like a family reunion.

What I've got planned for the year coming?
More Weddings! More Trips!
I've got alot of friends getting married and boy am I so excited to go see them!!
On top of that, a few new projects in line.
Apart from that, I sure am going to try and write more beauty post too.

This year has gone by by a blink of an eye, if you already had an amazing year, I hope you'll have an even better one to come. If not, hopefully the new year will get only better.

Remember:
You have to start somewhere to make it anywhere.
The Essence of Life is Finding Something You Really Love
And Then Making the Daily Experience Worthwhile.

Wishing you all a HAPPY HAPPY NEW YEAR again!

Weekend to Chao Zhou | Sunday

After a light breakfast in the second hotel, we headed to a local clan's temple. I didn't take any photos of breakfast because I only had some fresh fruit, since we are going to go back to the first restaurant we went for Friday's lunch again.

First thing you will notice is probably seeing elephants figures on the building sites, especially on the wall interiors. As far as I know, elephants are mainly seen (religiously) in Malaysian or even Thailand. We were told that they have included elephants on the wall decorations because the clan/ main family have had been to Thailand or Malaysia for business reasons and have brought them fortune.

After the visit to the clan's temple, we then went to a park at Lotus Mountain for a walk around and learn about the history of this person who came Chao Zhou in the photo below. To be honest, I'm the worst person to explain history into a story itself,

Back to the same restaurant we started our foodie trip!

Chao Zhou Dessert
I didn't take that many photos from lunch either... no excuses but some were the same dishes which we have had before but yet, we still wanted to eat more! That concludes the last photos before taking a long 6.5 hour bus ride back to Shenzhen and then back over the boarder to Hong Kong! Since it was the weekend, traffic always tend to be worse... so it took longer than expected. After saying our farewells and exchanging numbers to keep in touch with these foodies, it was a weekend to remember for us foodies for sure!

Weekend to Chao Zhou | Saturday

Since there really wasn't anything to do the night before, I managed to go to bed before 10pm. A bit of a miracle for my sleeping pattern, I suppose the long bus ride tired me out too. SO! A light breakie to start the day off! We were warned not to eat too much during the day because we were going to have two dinners in the evening. Yup. Two. I still need the energy during the day, so I choose Chao Zhou styled congee, a steamed tea egg and veggie bun, tried some of their meat with preserved vegetables too. On top of that with a small glass of soy milk, I think that does it for energy intake for the morning!

After breakfast, we went to this part museum, part temple and part office of a politician. Names I'm not too sure how exactly to translate because one, I honestly can't find one... two. I'm that type who can't stand still and listen to the tour guide. Don't get me wrong, the tour guide is one of the nicest person ever that I've met from China but I went off wondering taking photos instead. Typical me.

Don't worry, they didn't exactly had to cycle all the way to where we had lunch... They had a electrical motor installed underneath.

After having an other fulfilling lunch, we went on and walked around the historic old town.
Off to the Xiang Zi Bridge after a quick tour around a local temple and then we had some good old meatballs for a snack.
