Calligraphy x Pierre Herme

Earlier this month, I came across this calligraphy class by Kalo Make Art. Up at a little studio on Wyndham Street, she holds classes for beginners like myself! When you walk in, if you love to take photos, you'd feel like you've walked into Instagram or even a Pinterest vibe decor room filled with art, books, and all calligraphy related artsy tools.

It was a rainy day which made the room very cool and comforting.
A class holds up about 10 students at a time. So don't wait and just sign up!

Even though Kalo is a self taught calligrapher, she also takes classes around the would with Master Calligraphers to improve her skills too! There's always room for improvement as I've always been taught.

I was very interested in this class not only because it was a pen calligraphy but it was also a collaboration with Pierre Herme.

Basic Calligraphy kit Kalo has personally put together for us with some writing paper too.

Kalo herself in action!
After a good introduction of pen calligraphy itself and doing some writing practices with the rest of the students, Kalo made a demonstration of ideas and suggestions which could be done with the Pierre Herme gift box.

This is the design on the gift box after picking the macrons.

Thank you Kalo for the lovely class!

If you are in Hong Kong and would like to purchase calligraphy tools, do contact Kalo for the supplies! I'm not paid to say this but she does recommend you go up to the studio to try the tools before even buying them! Always a plus point when you hear that!

Food is always a great gift at any season especially with personal touch & design.
Any last minute shoppers?

My Winter Lips 2015

Few of my friends have been loving the lip colours which I have been rocking over these couple of months or so. A red and/ or a dark lip always puts one into a very the festive mood too!

I tend to lean towards plum and berry colours over the past couple of years, however, this year, I have definitely been loving polar opposites from NYX Tiramisu (a staple for me all year round) to the deep Vampira from Kat Von D.

One can never go wrong with the classic reds either.

- From Left to Right -

What's your favorite colour to rock this festive season?

Hermès | Festive Flânerie

As the name suggests, it was like a woodland wonderland waiting for one to explore what's in there. Held at the Hong Kong Museum of Medical Sciences, music playing, magicians performing along the way, the tour around the sight itself was spectacular.

Entrance & Canape Section

Walking right into the first room, was a massive fresh fruit and vegetable garden. All eatable from the apple tree hanging down from the ceiling, as well as grapes from the vines on the wall and of course, the round center piece. Reminded me of Willy Wonka's room filled with all eatable sweets and chocolate. Healthier option here of course! On top of that, I wonder how many carrots I've had and pulled off a bucks bunny accent.

Chemistry : Fresh Fruit Juices
Pumpkin, Corn, Beet Root, Spinach, Tomato and Chestnut

Cocktails and canapes with impeccable details, texture and taste.

It was great to have so many different types of cocktails to try in shot glasses. Getting to try many different types was definitely a treat! My favorite of all was : Blueberry Grappa

For some people, it may seem weird to eat off lookalike soil.
Don't worry, it was chocolate biscuits.

Happiest place in the world.
Balloons, Swings and Cloud Nine.

Outfit I wore:
Zara Jumpsuit | Zara Shoes | J. Crew Necklace |
Hermès Bangle | Hermès Bag Constance

A few artists were also walking around sketching.

Con Mia Madre

In an Eden.

"Essence of Garden"
Apple | Pineapple | Tomato

Butter Candle

"Yeast, Wheat & Flour"
Bread selection:
Wheat | Orange | Squid Ink | Original

"Rare Herbs & Vegetables"
"Dark Sea"
Oyster | Abalone | Lobster

"Specimen of an Ostrich Egg"
Pan fried Duck | Steamed Egg with Foie Gras

"Mystery of a Forest"
 Mushroom | Black & White Truffle |
Wild Boar Ragu with Mash Potato

"Artisanal Honey"
"Cotton Tree"
Petit Fours
Vanilla Pod Tea

After dinner, the band moved upstairs for the after party drinks and we went for a tour around the second floor to have a look at the decorations. It was felt very festive with all the candle holders hanging at different levels.

Christmas Gift Guide 2015 | For Her

Last year I was obsessed with the girlie girl with all the glitter and pink there could be. This time round, I am loving the marble and silver tones with a romantic touch. Picking my colour just like I am decorating a Christmas Tree. There are various colour choices within the items here so not your only option either!

I'm loving the aviator jacket by Silence + Noise and how can I not include a pair of shoe which can go with all sorts of outfits for this years parties? The Kate Spade box clutch is just to die for as a gift in a gift!

A little something for every girl out there.
What would you pick for yourself?

Seward | Two Feet on Ground

Good bye Cruise, Hello LAND!!

Two feet back on ground and off to Seward's airport!

On the way to the airport, we had a few stops to see a few things on the way. Not going to lie, our tour guide looked exactly like Santa Claus with a Hawaiian shirt on, just missing a surf board and Santa hat to complete the look. Despite having Santa as our tour guide, it was a lovely quick tour around Seward itself.

We made a few stops just for photos around the area and we ended up going to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. Maybe I will finally see a bear since the search in Icy Strait Point was a bit of a fail.

Tidal Wave
After driving by and viewing the tidal wave, and seeing people surfing on it.
I fell asleep in the van and by the time I woke up, we were already at the airport.

Got ourselves checked in and had a what they called a light lunch...
Massive Alaskan Crab Salad for me!

Goodbye Alaska
It's been quite the trip
