Valençay, a beautiful gem of the Renaissance is buried deep in the hear of the Berry province. This residence was purchased by Talleyrand in the early 1800s on Napoleon's request. The purpose of this Chateau at the time was to entertain ambassadors and foreign sovereigns in style. If you know the history of the relationship between Napoleon and Talleyrand, you'll know the story during the war and Talleyrand's dwelling and when this remarkable architecture shone at it's peak.
Apart from the visit of the Chateau of Valençay, there is also a historical forest trail within the estate, which they have named The Princes' Forest. If you don't want to walk the whole woodland, there are also electric cars to rent. There are also red-tan coated deers in the park itself, plenty of berries for them to munch on.
