Australia | Tangalooma Island

Australia | Tangalooma Island

After a good night's rest at Hotel Jen's and a breakie to keep the energy up. Off we went to Holt Street's pier to take the ferry over to Tangalooma Wild Dolphin Resort. I didn't get a lot photos during the two days there because Cyclone Marcia decided to hit Australia and we were drenched from head to toe. Luckily, we (each) got a rain coat to at the shop to keep ourselves dry. It came in handy till we left the island itself. It seems to be quite the popular destination for Asians since it was Chinese New Year. There was even a member of staff which even asks our group whether we knew how to speak Mandarin instead for her own sake of convenience, to explain certain instructions and questions of query. Oh well, what can we do? Most of the customers this trip were 80 % Asian.

After a long day out in the rain, it was nice to enjoy the afternoon with a good bottle of beer at a very late lunch, 'satisfying' was indeed the word to use.

Seafood Fried Rice
Stir Fry Prawns with Peanuts and Chili
Sichuan Boiled Fish (Shui Zhu Yu)
Bugs
I wasn't too sure when we saw the word 'bugs' on the menu... I mean, who wouldn't question when you see the word bugs? Turns out its another type in the prawn family. Much bigger than a tiger prawn but smaller than a lobster. Because of Cyclone Marcia, there was no end to the pouring rain. It was certain there wasn't much we could do. I was suppose to go dolphin feeding with the rest of the group but I'm not going to lie, I was frightened by the sea of crowd when they rushed to the shore to view and feed the dolphins. Few of us then decided to go and grab a table for dinner instead. So glad we did too! Because the flow of people who went into the restaurant was unbelievable quick!

Lunch time

After a lunch and letting the food digest, we headed for a quad bike adventure in the rain. It was a good test to myself how well I've actually done with my own makeup too! With the rain on my face, there's no doubt I would have to wipe the water off my face or even rub my eyes a little. The most important for me was to make sure no smudges at all. The worst you can get is panda eyes in the rain! Well, I'm glad everything stayed put where they should be!

Refreshed, dry and with a few empty bellies, dinner is served! We had more than this but because we were that hungry, these were the only photos I managed to get. We also had some salad, a spaghetti bolognese. And how can we ever miss out on a honeycomb ice cream to end the evening?

The funniest thing about this trip was that another friend of mine was in Australia doing around the same areas too! Can't wait to see him at his wedding for his big day! To add on top of that, even though we're in the same country, the funny bit is that we never seem to be at the same spot to meet up ever!
